Showcase day 2022

Last week we hosted our second ‘Engage Squared showcase day’ for our friends at Microsoft where we shared some exciting company announcements and provided our insights on what we think are the key trends this year. Once again, it was a fantastic session, with plenty of insights and customer stories shared.

Company growth

Since our last showcase day in October 2021, we have made some great strides as a company. Our team has grown by 35% over the last four months, we opened an office in Japan, continued our expansion across Asia and added over 20 new clients to our already amazing roster.

Most excitingly, over the last six months, we have formed new strategic partnerships with ServiceNow and Glint. As more companies look to invest in employee experience, we see integration and bridging the gap as a critical component to achieve this. Through these new partnerships, we’ll be able to help our clients improve the integration between applications and leverage their investment in technology.

Key trends

Overall, we see three key trends for 2022 that will shape how businesses of all sizes use technology.

Teams platform and meetings

Interest in using the platform capabilities of Teams (i.e. connecting more apps into Teams and building custom Teams apps) is growing exponentially across our customers. But, while the interest is there, use of Teams as a platform remains relatively low among businesses. For example, only 14% of our customers currently take advantage of this capability. We think this number will increase significantly this year, as a result of new capability, like Microsoft Viva, making it easier for people to design a new digital employee experience through Teams.

If you’re unsure of where to start and what’s possible with Teams, check out the below offers.

Employee experience

Need we say more? Across our clients, we’re seeing a big focus on attracting and retaining talent, addressing burnout, improving meeting culture and the overall digital employee experience. It’s exciting to see Microsoft develop technology to help companies address some of these issues. For example, through Viva Insights, our clients are connecting the dots between HR initiatives and technology use to reduce employee burn out, measure the cost of bloated meetings and manager effectiveness. There’s huge potential in this space. It’s encouraging to see some of our clients already taking advantage of these features.

Technology adoption for frontline

Now more than ever, it’s so important that all employees have the right tools to do their jobs. Over the last two years, we’ve seen major transformation within industries such as retail and healthcare, as they adapt to changing regulations and customer demands. Great examples of this include needing to overhaul internal processes to support click and collect orders, managing rosters and shifts virtually through Teams, and improving two-way communication between staff and at an organisational level.

There’s never been a better time to transform technology use and adoption among frontline. Some ways we can support this are linked below.
