On the 12th day of our 12 Days of Agents, we’re unwrapping an “agent” that isn’t technically an agent at all.
It’s Buddy, a progressive web app we built for Uniting, and honestly our superstar of the year! And yes, we’ll take any excuse to shout about Buddy from the rooftops.
We’re featuring it because it’s built on the same principles that make agents work: keep things simple, bring help into the flow of work, and give people time back where it matters most.
Every day, thousands of Uniting staff deliver care to older Australians. Uniting’s network of frontline employees spend most of their working day on the move, often alone and under pressure.
Uniting had already taken important steps toward transforming the digital experience for their workforce. But, because the tools were living in separate systems, frontline staff reported losing valuable time toggling between multiple apps, often while in transit or mid-care.
This not only slowed down workflows but increased the risk of missed documentation and reduced the time available for direct client care. The lack of unified experience also made it harder for staff to adopt and consistently use the digital tools available to them.
The challenge was to bring everything behind a single, secure, and mobile first-front door that adapts to role and language, so teams can find what they need quickly and keep their focus on care.
Recognising the opportunity to bring everything together, Uniting partnered with Engage Squared to help deliver ‘Buddy’ – a unified, mobile-first progressive web application that would act as a digital front door to the tools and services frontline workers needed most.
Buddy became the mobile “front door”, and one place staff can rely on between visits.
At Engage Squared, we understand that the best solutions are the ones that make life easier. If you’re interested in how Copilot agents can transform your teams workflows, book a call with one of our AI experts today.
